School’s out! (Didn’t they only just go back?!) Instead of looking ahead to days of screen time battles, you could try an interactive treasure hunt around Manchester. Let the kids take the lead and have an adventure together!

Enjoy the city

Thank goodness the weather’s improving! And the long evenings means it’s a lot nicer being outdoors now.

But there’s a lot more to Manchester than just the same old haunts.

Now’s a great time to spend some time together in the city centre, solving puzzles and seeing some brilliant stuff you’d forgotten about!

Treasure Hunt Manchester is a great way to reconnect with the city.

Maybe you’ve been into the city centre a million times- with Treasure Hunt Manchester you’ll discover places, people and things you never knew with our treasure hunt route- discovering fascinating stories and unearthing hidden gems- there’s a lot to love about Manchester, isn’t there?

There’s no time limit so you can take your time and make a full day of it. Take a picnic and go at your own pace, or stop along the way (we’ve planned a route that takes you past some of Manchester’s best spots for coffee, snacks and cake!) There's a lovely secluded picnic spot after clue 12.

It’ll keep the kids out of mischief for a good few hours and they’ll be worn out after rushing around looking for clues.

You’ll have fun puzzling over cryptic clues and following treasure maps.

An illustration of how Treasure Hunt Manchester works

“Two friends and our two 13 year old children (boy & girl) wanted to go into Manchester for the day, but there weren't any activities open, so we decided to do a tour to show the kids a bit of historic Manchester. Turns out we didn't know much either! Was really good fun and very interesting, great to do in semi lockdown when the streets are quiet and you can stop and look up! Difficult age to engage kids, but they really got involved and had a great day.”

Suitable for kids 8+

The game’s designed for grown-ups - so you’ll enjoy it - and it’s suitable for kids aged 8 and up.

You’ll need to work together to help them with the cryptic clues.

The whole route is pushchair friendly.

“Had an absolute blast, only with they did other quests around Manchester as would definitely do more of these. Unlike other of these app based hunts, this was very specific to the city and had great history lessons included”
